O2 Rest of World Passes are changingMay 15th, 2019
O2 Rest of World Passes are changing this month. O2 customers can enjoy low cost roaming outside of Europe with calls, texts and data for a fixed daily (24 hours) or monthly fee (30 days), so you will always know what you are paying.
Only pay for the pass once you have triggered it by one of these three ways:
Using 50Kb of data in-country
Making a call in-country or to the UK,
Receiving a call or sending a text in-country.
Travel between different zones and the data allowance travels with you, adjusting as you go.
O2 are now simplifying the Rest of the World Passes by combining the existing two voice and data zones to create a single (voice and data) zone in over 90 countries.
To improve the experience for O2 customers:
Each country in the new merged voice and data zone will get 500MB on a 24 hour pass and 5GB for the 30 day pass.
Fair usage for the 24 hour pass will increase from 200 minutes and texts to 300 minutes and texts.
30 day pass will increase from 2000 minutes and texts to 3000 minutes and texts.
The existing data-only zones will remain, however the allowance has increased from 2MB to 5MB in the current zone 5.
Here are the details, from 15 May 2019:
ROW 24 Hour Pass £7.50
ROW ZONE 1 – 500MB, 300 mins, 300 texts
ROW ZONE 2 – 50MB
ROW ZONE 3 – 5MB
ROW 30 Day Pass £99
ROW ZONE 1 – 5GB, 3000 mins, 3000 texts
ROW ZONE 2 – 500MB
ROW ZONE 3 – 50MB
If you have a Spend Cap, the price of the Rest of World Passes will not be included within their Spend Cap.
What are the benefits?
These new changes make it easier for customers to do business on their travels. Increased allowances give you even more freedom, and you will have a much better idea of roaming charges no matter where you go!
Note: Existing service codes will be updated with the allowances changes, so this means it will change for all Business customers when you renew a 30 day or 24 hour Rest Of World Passes.
