TomTom hits 150,000 fleet management installations

31/10/2011

TomTom, originally famous for its satellite navigation systems, is now also a major force in vehicle tracking and fleet management – and that’s official.

Consultancy Berg Insight has confirmed that TomTom has been the fastest organically-growing business in this industry for two years running. It has just passed the milestone of having equipped 150,000 vehicles with its fleet management systems, which are said to be used by 13,000 businesses.

TomTom entered the fleet management market only five years ago, but its Webfleet system has established itself firmly since then. Thomas Schmidt, managing director business solutions, attributes its success partly to the legacy-free nature of the Webfleet platform.

The company was founded back in 1991, and now claims to be the world’s leading supplier of in-car location and navigation products. It also owns Tele Atlas, one of the two big developers of digital mapping for satnav and other purposes, and offers various other in-dash "infotainment" products.

At ADSI we are pleased to announce that we are now a Gold Reseller of TomTom products - for a free onsite demonstration of the products call 01268 495555.
